About Me

I am a HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist with a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the UK, and over 15 years’ experience working with people who have experienced significant and often repeated trauma.

My career has been rooted in specialist NHS trauma services, including tertiary services for Complex PTSD, alongside long-standing work in private practice. I have supported individuals whose lives have been shaped by trauma occurring in childhood and adulthood, across personal, interpersonal, occupational, and political contexts, and have helped people to reclaim or build an identity outside of their traumatic experience.
Every person’s journey is unique, and therapy is always tailored to your individual needs and goals.

My work is guided by three core values

Care

My work is guided by three core values

Compassion

understanding difficulties in the context of what someone has lived through, not as personal failings.

Commitment

To high clinical standards, ethical practice, and meaningful therapeutic change.

Taking the First Step

Starting therapy can feel daunting, particularly if you have spent a long time coping by avoiding painful experiences. Many people worry about being overwhelmed, judged, or asked to revisit things before they feel ready.

I had the pleasure of being Eleanor's supervisee whilst undertaking a top up course in Cognitive therapy for PTSD ran by OXCADAT. As a CBT therapist in a busy Talking Therapies service it was fantastic to be supervised by a clinical psychologist. Eleanor brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise that was informative on my practice. Supervision was constructive and felt like a safe place to develop in to a reflective practitioner. Eleanor is kind and takes a real interest in your development, as well as your patient and I know for sure my therapy has improved for my patients leading to better outcomes for them. Eleanor has really grown my confidence working with trauma and complexity, but also has given where appropriate useful advice when working with other presentations such as depression, panic, gad and ocd that you would be in safe hands. Eleanor's expertise working with trauma was invaluable. I could not recommend Eleanor as supervisor enough.

Adam Weston CBT Therapist.

Eleanor is fantastic, her method in my case was not to overcome but to acknowledge and manage. She shared a method which I currently practice when I'm feeling low. The first session is always a tough one; not with Eleanor, she made me feel comfortable from the start and sharing my issues came naturally. Thanks Eleanor for all the help, very pleased with the outcome.

I was truly fortunate to begin working with Eleanor again after a traumatic bereavement a few years ago. Having worked with her previously following a diagnosis of CPTSD, I knew she could be trusted to walk with me through what would become the most challenging and turbulent period of my life. Looking back, I don't think I would have survived my circumstances without her. Eleanor combines a depth of clinical knowledge with a compassion and sensitivity that I believe is genuinely rare in her profession. She is not only expert in applying her toolkit of techniques (EMDR, for instance, was a revolutionary and life-giving intervention for me) but extraordinarily astute and observant in how she guides you through your own journey through trauma. She sees things you cannot yet see yourself, and she does so with immense kindness. Before working with Eleanor, I was anxious, hypervigilant, and unsure of how to navigate a personal landscape that had changed irrevocably. I struggled with nightmares; and often, I could not sleep. Through our work together, I learned to see myself as enough and to advocate for myself. Today, all of the somatic remnants of trauma are gone and my life has changed immensely, for the better, since our work together. I have achieved things I never thought possible, and push through my fears on a daily basis. I don't recognise the person that I was, and I truly owe this all to her. I have sometimes thought of Eleanor as my Ariadne, the one who led me out of the labyrinth and back into life. I could not recommend working with her highly enough.
